Kate Moss is certainly passionate about the things she believes in; Pauline Forster, the landlady of the supermodel's favourite pub, the George Inn, can attest to that.
When the venue became embroiled in a high-profile battle with developers who wanted to knock it down, Moss famously became one of its most vocal backers by going so far as to pose there in a "Save the George" T-shirt for a magazine photoshoot. Her hairdresser's car was almost hit by ensuing paparazzi as they arrived, Forster recalled in yesterday's Evening Standard.
"As soon they came in all they wanted was a gin and tonic to calm their nerves," she says. "At the same time same time the conservation officer from Tower Hamlets was there, and Kate was running up and down the stairs screaming 'Save the George!' with practically nothing on."
"It was a good, fun day."
